Apple has revised its iOS App Store guidelines following a U.S. District Court ruling that found the company in violation of a 2021 injunction. The changes permit developers to integrate external payment systems and facilitate NFT transactions from secondary markets—a move spurred by Epic Games’ antitrust lawsuit against Apple.

While the updated policy removes barriers for NFT trading, cryptocurrency-related restrictions remain intact for iPhone and iPad applications. The decision marks a significant shift in Apple’s walled-garden approach, potentially accelerating Web3 adoption through mainstream app distribution channels.
